1. Have the beam projector ready to show the activities suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” and print the file suggested as well.

2. Ask students if they have any collections or somebody in their families.

3. Ask them what they collect and why.

4.  Project the first activity ‘Preparation’ to pre-teach vocabulary.  Invite 12 volunteers to take turns and match the 12 pictures to their names.

5. Play the audio and have students listen to the poem. Make several pauses to help them with general understanding.

6. Invite students to underline the types of collections in the poem.

7. Play the poem again to do the first game to work with vocabulary and comprehension: match the collections and the objects.

8. Ask for some volunteers to come to the front and work with reading comprehension game, TRUE / FALSE.

9. Read the poem with the class aloud.

10. Ask students to use the poem Collections they worked with in the previous session.

11. Review some of the collections they read in the poem.

12. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to review the poem by doing the T/F exercise.

13. Check the answers with the class.

14. Play the poem again and tell students to identify the words that rhyme. Model the activity by using the example.

15.  Ask students to draw pictures of the collections they have (or would like to have) and write a short paragraph about it( them.

16. Invite students to share with the class their drawings and read their descriptions.

2. Ask students what their brothers’ and sisters’ hobbies are.

3. Invite students to ask you what your hobbies are and compare them to theirs, do you have the same hobby (ies)?

4.  This video has 4 different ways to use it,  a) sound + non-subtitle, b)  sound + subtitle, c) mute + subtitle, d) mute + non-subtitle. It is recommended that you use the second modality, sound + subtitle.

5.  Play the video and have students read the line of the dialog, or read them after you.

6. Make some pauses for students to answer questions like, What hobbies do they mention?  What are the children’s names? , etc.

7. Have some volunteers to act out the conversation using modality c). Encourage students to participate enthusiastically.

8.  Make a list with the names of the hobbies mentioned and the names of the children next to them so the class can talk about what these children like.

9. Ask students to ask the classmate they have to their left what they like to do on the weekends and report to you, ‘Luis likes----‘.

10. Tell students to work in pairs and write down the different hobbies the children in the video mention as well as their names and ages.

11. Play the video the first time and ask students to only listen, and help with vocabulary as needed. Then, play the video a second time and ask students to write down the information required.

12. Invite pairs of students to compare their information and make corrections if necessary.

13. Have students tell you how many different hobbies were mentioned in the video, which ones are girls’ favorites and which ones boys preferred.
