1. Have the beam projector ready to show the activities suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section. You can also download the file for the second activity and get it for free but you would have to register first.

2. Tell students they are going to learn a song about safety.

3. Ask students why it is very important to know the meaning of signs when they walk down the street or go to the park, etc.

4. Play the song and draw students’ attention to the subtitles. You may want to teach the lyrics first and then play the song.

5. Invite students to sing the song and clap to the rhythm.

6.  Play the song again without sound and invite students to sing and dance.

7. Ask students what signs they recognize and have learned very well.

8.  Review CAN  and CAN’T with students and guide them to notice it is a prohibition.

9. Ask students to give you some examples and write them on the board.

10. Show the activity and invite students to work in pairs. They are going to take turns and ask each other the questions and give answers.

11. Monitor the activity and make sure students are asking the questions and participating.

12. Ask the class to give you the answers and write them on the board.

13. Ask pairs of students to take each CAN or CAN’T and read each other the sentences that were affirmative (using CAN) and the sentences that were negative (using CAN’T)

There’s no narration of the story, the animation and sound effects are self-explanatory.

2. Ask students how they imagine their city with no signs and ads.

3. How life would be that way? Do you think people would find places easily?

4. Show this first part (where shapes and colors are shown) and pause the video.

5. Review with students shapes and colors and how they are used to give different instructions.

6. Encourage students to tell you as many signs in these colors as they can remember.

7. Continue with the story and make pauses if you consider it necessary.

8. Invite students to work in groups of three and talk about the story. Help with grammar and vocabulary as needed.

9. Play  the story again and ask some volunteers to narrate   the story .

10. Ask students to spell ‘stop’ (S-T-O-P), ‘ danger’ (D-A-N-G-E-R), etc.

11.  Show the activity and invite some volunteers (8) to take turns and work on the activity.

12. Read the words to the right and make sure students remember the signs.

13. Draw students’ attention to the unscrambled words to the left and ask students to choose a number (1-8) so they can take their turn and unscramble the word.

14. Ask the rest of the class to answer the exercise in their notebooks.

15. Check answers at the end of the activity and if there are mistakes, ask students to give the right answer.

16. Invite volunteers to come to the front and spell names of signs for the class and have the class say what that is.
