1. Have the video suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section ready to show it to students and download the file suggested as well for the next activity.

2. Tell students they will watch a video about twin sisters planning their weekend with their friends.

3. Ask students to imagine what possible things the twin sisters are going to do on their weekend.

4. Write their ideas on the board.

5. Play the video for students to watch it. (You may want to pause the video twice and comment on the story)

6. Ask students to compare the activities they thought the twin sisters could do with the actual ones.

7. Play the video again and pause it after each activity the twin sisters talk about.

8. Write on the board some of those sentences for students to look at the pattern ‘going to’.

9. Play the video once more without sound and ask students to narrate it and make the voices of the characters.

10.  Ask students to make groups and act out the video of the twin sisters planning their weekend.

12. Write on the board ‘GOING TO’ and model one sentence.

13. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to work individually.

14. Read the given example (#1) and ask students to read it aloud.

15. When students are finished, invite them to exchange their worksheets with another student and check answers.

16. Invite students to tell you what they are going to do on a busy day like the one Sam is going to have. Encourage them to say at least three sentences.

1. Have the beam projector ready to show students the video suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” and download the file suggested as well for the last part of the session.

2. Tell students they will now listen to a chant. Remind them what a chant is about a kid and his plans for the weekend.

3. Play the video and ask students to only listen first (the video takes 1:42 minutes but includes a ‘karaoke’ section). Wait for reactions.

4. Go over the sentences in the video and read them for students to repeat after you.

5. Ask students to now chant along since the video has subtitles.

6. Divide the class into two groups: group A claps and group B chants along but without the video.

7. Invite students to do the karaoke part of the video.

8. Invite students to write their own lines to go with the chant and perform in front of the class.

9. Make copies of the worksheet for students.

10. Tell students they are going to read the story of Cathy in the future. The paragraph is in the simple present because Cathy is living that life now but to us is the future. You may take the opportunity to contrast the present simple vs. will.

11. Distribute the worksheet, read the story aloud, and help with vocabulary as needed.

12. Tell students to find the text inside the maze and monitor the activity.

13. Ask students to work in pairs to answer the questions.

14. Help with reading comprehension as needed.

15. Ask students to report their answers to another pair of students and discuss as a class the questions in the future.

11. Ask students to work in groups of three so they can play this game in teams.

12. Tell students each group is going  to take turns to play. They need to click on the words of a sentence which is not in order.

13. They need to decide who will click on the words while the other two students will help form the sentence by telling him/her what parts to choose.

14. Ask the rest of the class to wait for their turn and try to form the sentences in their heads but they cannot call out the answers.

15. There is another game so depending on your time, you can play it in class as well and use the grammar reference on the same page as needed.
