1. Have the video and worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section ready in advance.

2. Have the beam projector ready to show the video and download and print a photocopy of the worksheet for each student.

3. Before starting the class, review the alphabet. Encourage students to say it after you.

4. Project the video and have students watch and listen to the song up to minute 1:47. Play the song in the video twice for students to get familiar with the song. Encourage students to sing if they can.

5. Play now the second part of the video (1:48 to 13:10) for students to practice the names and sounds of the letters.

6. Once the video is over, give away the photocopies to students and have them trace the letters in the alphabet by themselves.

7. Next, have students work in pairs and say the letters and name the drawing to each other for practice.

8. Then, in small groups, have students write their names on a piece of paper and spell it to their classmates.

9. Finally, play the song in the video one last time and have students sing along. Make sure all students participate.

 

Evalúa Assess students’ level in oral expression: • Students are able to identify letters in the alphabet and their sounds. • Students are able to recognize the letters that form their names and spell it.

3. Before starting the class, talk to students about different activities they like to do after school, their favorite hobbies or things they can do. Encourage students to say why they like them.

4. Project the video and have students watch and listen to it and make sure they understand all activities mentioned in it.

5. Organize a short discussion and have students talk about which activities they do or would like to try.

6. Once the video is over, give away the photocopies to students. 7. Read the instructions and have them look at the pictures and see how many of these activities they can recognize.

8. Next, have students match the words in the box at the bottom of the page with the drawings and write them in the correct space.

9. Write on the board “I like …” and drill the structure using different activities from the worksheet and other activities they propose.

10. Finally, ask students individually “What do you like doing?” for them to talk about their favorite activities and use the structure they learned (i.e. I like reading).

1. Download and print the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section in advance and make photocopies for each student.

2. Before starting the activity, discuss as a group, about how important it is for students to talk about the things they like to do and their personal information.

3. Then, give the photocopies away to each student and ask them to look at the boxes and read what information they need to complete. Help them solve any doubts if necessary.

4. Have students complete the worksheet by themselves with their information and then color the drawings. Help them if necessary.

5. Once students finish, ask them to work in groups of three or four and share with their classmates the information in their worksheets.

6. Finally, have some volunteers come to the front and share their own information with the whole class.
