1. Download and print the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section

2. Make copies of worksheet 1 for half your class and copies of worksheet 2 for the other half.

3. Ask students if they like to go to the zoo, what animals they like and how many different animals there are.

4. Hand out the worksheets to students and ask them to find a partner with a different worksheet from theirs.

5. Tell students they are going to write sentences for each sign they have in their worksheets.

6. Monitor the activity.

7. Help with grammar and vocabulary as needed.

8. Finally, invite students to present their worksheets and their signs.

9. Discuss with the class how many different sentences they could write for the signs and invite students to dictate the sentences to the class so they can have more possible messages for their signs.

10. Project the sign : Park Rules .

11. Tell students they’re going to practice writing and signs.

12. Ask students to copy the sign in their notebook using the same color (green) and capital and lower case letters.

13. Review the colors signs use for public places.

14. Tell students they are going to work in pairs to draw one more sign.

15. Invite students to discuss with their partners what other possible signs for public places they could draw and write.

16. Make a list on the board of those places.

17. Tell students they will have the opportunity to design and color their sign the most attractive way possible.

18. Ask students to write 3 rules following the format and style of the PARK RULES you are projecting.

19. Finally, invite students to come to the front of the class and present their sign.

1. Download the poster of signs suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” and make enlarged copies of it.

2. Cut the signs (there are 18 signs ) and separated them in groups of 4.

3, Tell students they are going to work in groups of three.

4. Hand out the 4 signs to each group.

5. Tell students to talk about them in their groups, first.

6. Then, ask students to write the messages that will go with the sign on individual pieces of paper.

7. Help with grammar and vocabulary.

8. Invite students to play with another group. One team places their signs on the desk and hands the pieces of paper with the messages for them to match. Then, the other team repeats the procedure.

8. Invite groups to share how many signs and messages they matched correctly.

9. Have the beam projector ready to show the video to students: At an art museum. (this video was used early in the unit so if you used it , ask questions about the museum, the boy, etc. to check on how much they remember.)

10. Ask students to divide a page of their notebook in half and then divide the page horizontally so they have six boxes.

11. Play the video and ask students to choose six scenes from the story to draw in their table.

12. Suggest students they can draw stick figures and speech bubbles.

13. Tell students to include signs with messages written.

14. Invite students to share their comic strips with the class.
