1.  Have the videos suggested in the “MaterialesEducativosDigitales” section ready to show to students.

2. Ask students to think about a possible situation to ask somebody for help and who they would ask for help.

3. Ask students what expressions to ask for help they know.

4. Tel students they are going to watch a video that presents how to ask for and offer help.

5. Play the first part of the video which is ‘asking for help’ and invite students to read the dialogs since the video has no sound.

6.  Ask students  comprehension  questions such as, “Who needs to borrow a book? Why? Is Rama, the boy, happy to lend Ning his book?

7. Play the second part of the video which is about ‘offering help’ and set up the context, now these people are at their workplace and one of the guys needs help from the other.

8. Ask students questions such as, “ Who forgot his wallet? What can Nata do for Adetian? You can take the opportunity to comment on the names of the characters of the dialogs. Where do you think they are from?

9. Ask students to remember the expressions used in the dialogs  (Can I borrow…? / Can I help you…? And analyze the contexts.

10. Invite students to practice the questions by substituting the dialogs. You can play the video and pause it right where the first part of the dialog takes place. Then, discuss the expressions the people who helped used.

11. To change the mood of the activity, tell students they are going to learn a song but they will have to work on the music and the melody.

12.. The melody of the song and the voices of the children who sing can be a little childish for your class, so challenge students to sing it to the rhythm they want. It is a two-verse song that shows subtitles that can be used as karaoke.

14. Play the video and let the students read the lyrics, pause the video, and ask students if they can remember the main lines “Can you help me, help me?”

15. Invite students to work in groups of three and put the rhythm to the song. Encourage students it can be any kind of rhythm they like.

16. Monitor and offer help as needed.

17. Invite groups to sing their song and vote on the catchiest, for example.

18. Play now the original song and wait for reactions. Then, ask what group they liked best.

1. Have the videos suggested in the “MaterialesEducativosDigitales” section ready to show to students.

2. Ask students to think of a possible question to ask a friend for help with English, for example, or with mathematics.

3. Write the questions on the board and review the question form. Write two more examples on the board.

4. Tell students they are going to watch a video to explore some dialogs where people are asking for help. This video can be divided into two parts, part 1 up to 1:32 where the conversations are presented, and part 2 up to the end of the video where the language features (grammar) are presented. Decide if you want to work with both parts or focus only on the expressions in context.

5. Ask comprehension questions,  “Who wants a cup of coffee? Who offers help? What expression does she use?” discuss them with the students.

6. Play the second situation and ask comprehension questions,  “What dos the student ask her mother to help him with?

7. As commented earlier, you may want to present the definitions of asking for and offering help that comes in the video and decide on the grammar section.

8. Ask students to paraphrase the situation in the video to describe who needs help with what.

9. Tell students that now they'll watch another video but this time with a similar situation to the ones they'd probably have been through, two classmates are talking on the phone about school.

10. Tell students the video has subtitles so they can follow the conversation by reading as well.

11. Ask students to answer these questions, “Have you ever asked a classmate for help? With what? A subjects, a homework? “

12. Ask comprehension questions, “Who is calling who? What seems to be the problem with Tita? Why is she calling Himma?

13. Play the video again and ask students to tell you when to pause it as soon as they listen to the expressions used to ask for and offer help and write them on the board.

14. Ask students to role-play the conversation with other classmates.
