1. Download the file suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” and make copies for students. Have the beam projector ready to work on an interactive worksheet, as well.

2. Tell students they are going to learn about colors and shapes but now in signs because they have a special meaning.

3. Review shapes: circle, triangle, rectangle, square, etc.

4. Play the video and make a pause to review traffic lights, then, continue with the second part which is shapes, triangular for warning traffic signs.

5. You may want to write these categories on the board and ask students to copy them in their notebooks. Discuss the use of black and red in those, as well as prohibition signs.

6. If time allows, play the next segment of the video on road tips.

7. Invite students to work in pairs and draw a traffic warning sign and a prohibition sign and present it to another pair.

8. Invite volunteers to show their signs to the class.

9. You can either project or print the activity. It is better if you print it so you can monitor students writing the expressions directly.

10. Distribute the worksheet and read the phrases and sentences for students. Help with vocabulary as needed.

11. Invite students to work in pairs and do the activity, recognize the sign and write what it means on the line.

12. Ask students to circle the signs that mean prohibition and guide them to discover or recognize how the negative is made.

13. Discuss with students what possible places these signs could be found.

1. Have the beam projector ready to show the interactive activity  suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and print the file and make copies for students for the first activity.

2. Say the word ‘stop’ and ask students to spell it. Give some other examples of sign messages and make students aware of the importance of spelling in writing.

3. Ask students to spell ‘don’t run on the stairs’.

4. Distribute the worksheet.

5. Read the words on the right and help with vocabulary. Give a simple example for students to see how the word is used.

6. Ask students to unscramble the words and compare their answers with another classmate.

7. Check answers with the class by asking them to spell the words.

8. Have some volunteers come to the board and write the words that a classmate will dictate.

9. Review imperatives in affirmative and in negative and write a couple of examples on the board.

10. Show the activity and explain the first activity: completing with the missing words. Encourage the class to read the paragraph and give you the answers.

11. Continue with the next part, matching the expressions to the corresponding sign.

12. Invite some volunteers to participate, ask them to take turns and choose a sign and match it to its meaning.

13. Click  on ‘terminado’ and comment on the results.

14. Invite students to draw these signs in their notebooks and write the meaning ‘DON’T____’
