1.  Download the file suggested in the MED section and make copies for students. Have the beam projector ready as well to project the second activity.

2.  Present the expression "It's raining, it's pouring" and elicit some gestures to go with it.

3. Tell students they are going to read a poem about a situation when it's raining, it's pouring.

4. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to underline the title of the poem. Then, read it aloud.

5. Ask students to listen to the poem and underline the words that end in _ING.

6. Ask students to read the words ending in _ING and choose some students at random to read the poem and make the gestures for 'it's raining, it's pouring' as they read. 

7. Trace the tile of the poem and ask students what that is.

8. Ask students to read the last exercise and find the words that end in _ING but they have to read aloud.

9. Check answers with the class by reading the words incorrectly for them to correct you.

10.Tell students they are going to practice rhyming words and write a poem.

11. Play the video and make pauses for students to repeat the words presented. Star with what rhyming words are and ask students to make a list of the words in their notebooks.

12. Ask students to read the rhyming words aloud at the same time so the classroom is very noisy.

13. Ask students to do " Do these words rhyme? " section and raise their hands to answer.

14. Ask students to write  2 or 3 verses to practice the words and write a poem.

2. Ask students to give you the names of animals that have wings and make a list on the board. Then, ask students if all of them can fly. (except 'butterfly' since they will work with it later)

3. Invite students to read the names of the animals aloud and spell them out as well.

4. Tell students they are going to write a short poem about an animal that has wings.

5. Write a short sentence to work as the first verse in a poem that students need to complete. A bluebird / A small bird / A happy bird, etc--------

6. Ask students to be as creative and original to write 2 or 3 more verses but elicit more sentences about a bird for students to listen to more ideas.

7. Monitor and offer help as needed with grammar and sentence structure, basically.

8. Invite students to read their poems to the class.

9. Tell students they are going to write a short poem in pairs. Distribute the worksheet and ask students what the poem is about ( a butterfly).

10.  Write ton the board 'This is my butterfly, a colorful butterfly that is happy to fly' and ask students to continue the poem with two more verses,

11. Ask students how many rhyming words there are in your verses and suggest them to try rhyming words if possible.

12. Monitor and offer help as needed.

13. Invite pairs of students to read their poems to other pairs.
