1. Download and print both stories from the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section.

2. Make photocopies of the story you think is more suitable for your students. Remember to make a copy for each one of your students.

3. If you think your students can do both stories, then choose the simplest one to do first, and then the most complicated.

4. Give the photocopies away to students and read the title out loud. Ask students if they know the story and have volunteers tell you what it is about.

5. Read the paragraphs of the story and have students read along silently.

6. Then, have students work individually, read the story one more time and decide its sequence.

7. Once students finish deciding the order of the story, ask them to cut out the paragraphs on the right and to paste the story events in order. As students are working, walk around to monitor their work.

8. Review the story with your whole class and then, have students color them.

9. Finally, pair up students and have them retell the story to their classmates. You could ask students to use their own words or to read it.

1. Download the pdf document suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and print the four stories.

2. Decide which of these 4 stories is more suitable for your students and make photocopies for each student.

3. If you want, you could also use two stories and give students different stories to work on, so by the end of the activity, they retell different stories to each other.

4. Give the photocopies away and read the title of the story and the story out loud.

5. Practice reading out loud with students. Have them read the story after you before they begin with the activity.

6. Ask students to color and then cut out the and paste the illustrations of the story events in order. As they do this, walk around the classroom and monitor their work.

1. Download the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section, print it, and make photocopies for each student.

2. Before starting the lesson, remind students the kind of word they use to represent actions (verbs).

3. Give the photocopies away and read the title and instructions out loud. Make sure they understand the present continuous tense and what it describes (actions happening now).

4. Ask several volunteers to read the verbs on the left out loud. Make sure students understand them and help with pronunciation.

5. If necessary, ask some volunteers that know the meaning of the verbs to describe it miming the word.

6. Review as a class how to form the continuous tense on the board. Remember to do it as simple as you can.

7. Have students do the activity individually, if they struggle, have them work in pairs. Monitor their work and help if necessary.

8. Finally, have several volunteers come to the front and write their answers. You could ask other volunteers to say a sentence out loud using the verb and present continuous. Help with pronunciation if necessary.
