1. Download and make photocopies of worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section for each student.

2. Before starting the class remind students about rhyming words.

3. Give away the photocopies to students and read the instructions aloud.

4. Before students start with the activity, read the words in each tic-tac-toe grid aloud and have students point to the words you are reading.

5. Tell students that now they need to read the words individually and in silence, and draw a line through the ones that rhyme. As they are working, walk around and monitor their work.

6. Once students finish with this first task, ask them to get together with a classmate to check their work.

7. Have students complete the second task with their classmates and write the rhyming words on the lines.

8. Finally, have students share their answers with the rest of the class by inviting volunteers to pass to the front and write their answers on the board.

1. Download and print a photocopy of the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” for students (1 per team). Each student will need to bring at least 10 tokens of the same color to play. 

2. Before starting the class, play a game with rhyming words. Write a list of five words students are familiar with and say them aloud randomly for them to think of words that rhyme. Have students give you different examples.

3. Ask students to work in pairs and give away the photocopies and give students directions on how to play 4 in a row.

4. Ask students to bring out their tokens and have them take turns spelling and reading a word. If students say and spell the word correctly, they place a token on the word.

5. Tell students that the first student to get 4 tokens in a row in any direction will win and that they can block their opponents choosing words and trying to get their own tokes in a row.

6. Finally, once most students finish playing, have the winners say and spell the words they used to win.

1. Download and print the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and make photocopies of the three pages for each student.

2. Before starting the class remind students about rhyming words, and/or rhymes they remember from previous lessons and encourage them to give you some examples.

3. Give away the photocopies to students and tell students what to do to complete the first exercise. Have them complete their personal information at the top of the page and then focus their attention on the exercise.

4. Ask students to look at the words in the box and have them complete the rhymes on pages 1 and 2 by writing the words on the lines. Then have them complete the drawings according to their answers.

5. Now, continue with the last page of the worksheet and read the rhyme aloud along with students. Practice the rhyme as many times as possible for students to be able to memorize it.

6. Read the instructions for the last activity and have students complete the exercise individually.

7. Finally, have some volunteers read their answers aloud for the rest of the class.
