1. Download and print the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section in advance and make photocopies of pages 1, 3 and 4 of the worksheet for each student.

2. Before starting the class, show students the first page with the baker and ask him about what this character do, etc. Encourage students to tell you everything they know.

3. Give away the photocopies of page 1 to students and read the paragraph at the end of the page. Make sure students understand the story.

4. Double check the meaning of the vocabulary of both the rhyme and the story by asking volunteers to say the new words they find in their own language.

5. Remind students about rhyming words and play some speaking games for them to remember. Use the examples from the rhyme.

6. Have students read the rhyme after you and practice reading it several times.

7. Now, give away the photocopies of pages 3 and 4 to students and work on them following the instructions given. Find the rhyming words and then paste the steps in order. Monitor their work at all times.

8. Read the instructions for teacher included on page 2 of the worksheet for additional ideas.

9. Finally, to share their work with a classmate and with the rest of the class to check and correct.

1. Download and print the flashcard sets suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section in advance or have a beam projector ready to show the flashcards to students. You can also print as many sets of the flashcards as you need for each student and laminate them to be reused for other lessons.

2. Remind students about rhyming words and have them give you some examples they know.

3. Project the first set of cards using the beam projector and before doing the activity, say the names of the objects in each box aloud.

4. Read the instructions and ask students to tell you which are the words that rhyme. If you decide to make a set for each student, then have them circle the pictures that rhyme in each box using a water-based marker so it is easy to clean and reuse.

5. Follow the same procedure for the second set of cards.

6. Write on the board “X rhymes with X” and drill the structure using different examples so when you check their answers, they can use the structure.

7. Finally, ask students individually “What rhymes with X?” using different examples from the cards and encourage them to use the structure they learned.
