1. Download the template of a warning sign suggested in the “Matriales Educativos Digitales” and print and make copies for each student.

2. Ask students why they think the sign is red: prohibition.

3. Invite students to tell you which places they have seen these red (warning) signs and what the consequence of not respecting the rules

4. Hand out the copies to students and ask them to think of a public place.

5. Make a list on the board.

6. Tell students to choose one of those places and draw their sign.

7. Monitor and offer help as needed with grammar and vocabulary.

8. Invite students to find other classmates who chose the same place and compare their signs.

9. Ask students to get together and group their signs according to the places they chose.

10. Ask students to imagine an airplane and what places they come to their mind related to  that image.

11. Try another example, a fork, and a knife, and ask the same question.

12. Tell students they are going to practice writing some sentences about what these signs probably mean.

13. Distribute the worksheet and draw students’ attention towards the modals box. Model some sentences for them to understand their use.

14. Use the first picture as an example and show students how modals are used to show probability.

15. Invite students to work in pairs and do the other images.

16. Check the answers with the class. How many different answers they had?

17. Finally, go back to the box of modals showing probability and make sure students understand there are different levels of probability in English.

1. Have the beam projector ready to show the activities suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section.

2. Ask students what places they think the sign DANGER could be seen.

3. Ask students to remember what color the sign for disabled people is.

4. Show the poster to students and   ask them to group the signs by color and review what that means.

5. Invite students to work in pairs, compare their color classification and share it with the class.

6. Invite volunteers to come to the front of the class and choose a sign to match with its name.

7. Tell the rest of the class to answer in their notebooks.

8. When the exercise has been answered check answers and make corrections.

9. Choose 5 different signs and ask students to write a message for them.

10. Invite students to share with the class their messages and check how similar or different they are from theirs.

13. Show the signs and ask for some volunteers to answer.

14. Ask the rest of the class to answer in their notebooks.

15. When the answers have been checked, ask students to work in pairs and draw a different sign for the words in the activity.

16. Invite students to compare their signs in groups of 3.
