1. Download and print the worksheet suggested in the “Materiales Educativos Digitales” section and make photocopies for each student.

2. Before starting with the lesson, review as a group the different signs and expressions students know and have learned so far. Encourage students to speak up.

3. Give away the photocopies to each student and have them look at the pictures of the signs.

4. Then, ask them what the signs mean and elicit answers from several students.

5. Read the instructions and make sure they understand what they will do. Ask students to circle “can” or “can’t” to complete the sentences that describes the sign. If necessary, do the first exercise as an example.

6. Once students finish the activity, have them work in pairs to check their answers. Walk around as they do this to help them.

7. Finally, you ask volunteers to pass to the front and share their answers with the rest of the class.

Evalúa Assess students’ level in oral expression: • Students are able to identify and relate traffic signs and what they mean. • Students are able to observe directionality of writing. • Students are able to identify words related to signs and their meaning. • Students are able to detect similarities and differences between expressions used in traffic signs. • Students are able to review repertoire of words and expressions.

4. Have students write their information at the top of the page.

5. Ask some volunteers to read aloud the names of the signs on the right. Help them with pronunciation if necessary.

6. Next, ask students to match the expressions with the illustrations.  

7. Ask students to find similarities and differences between the signs they see in their own community and their worksheet and discuss them as a group.
