Desarrollo 00:40 3. Project the web site on the board using the projector for every student to see it and read the introduction. Make sure students understand the difference between direct and indirect speech generally, before you go on with the next sections. 4. Read the “Direct Speech” and “Indirect Speech” sections and have students make notes and write some examples.

Cierre 00:15 5. Once students finish, ask them to comparetheir noteswith another classmate to clarify doubts and to complete any detail they may have missed. 6. Ask students to continue working in pairs and ask them to tell their classmates 4 different things they did the day before. 7. With the information they obtained, ask them to use both direct and indirect speech to report what their classmates told them. 8. Once they finish, have some volunteers share their work with the rest of the class.

Desarrollo 00:25 3. Give away the photocopies and read the introduction aloud. 4. Review the rules for the tenses and the time expressions. Clarify any possible doubts. 5. Focus students’ attention on the first exercise and have them report the sentences using indirect speech. Once they finish, have some volunteers pass to the front to write their answers on the board. 6. Review with students the uses of “tell” and “say” before they start doing exercise 2. Once they finish, ask some volunteers read their answers aloud.

Organize students in pairs before they work on exercise 3 and ask them to solve it together. Walk around as they are working and clarify any doubts. 9. Ask students to continue working in pairs to solve exercise 4 and allow them to go back to the introduction page in case they have any doubts. 10. Once students finish exercises 3 and 4, ask them to get together with another pair of students to compare their work and make any necessary corrections. 11. Walk around to monitor their work and help them if necessary.
