EIGHT PARTS OF SPEECH: WORD SEARCH

A word search activity for students to review the eight parts of speech

1. Download the file and make copies for students .

2. Review what the 8 parts of speech are, it is not necessary to give long and technical explanations,  some examples will be enough for students.

3. Write the names  1, adjective, 2.adverb, 3.conjunction,4.interjection,5.noun, 6.preposition,7.pronoun, 8.verb on the board and elicit examples from students to write in sentences so they can see how they are use and their function.

4. Distribute the worksheet and ask students to write on the 8 lines the 8 parts of speech from the board.

5. Set a time limit for them to search the words and encourage them to participate actively.

6. Ask the winners to show their worksheets to the class.
