THE LOST CROWN OF ANGLIA

Suspense story to analyze the text structure

1. Show the video of “The lost crown of Anglia”. It is a 14 minutes suspense story. We recommend that after showing each chapter, the teacher give students a short time for questions about the story. In fact, each chapter is written to leave the reader in suspense.

2. Analyze the story based on the following questions:

• Which of the following suspense techniques do you find in this story?

• Delaying the answer to a question

• Slowing down at a moment of intensity

• Using dramatic irony

• Verbal cues

• Near miss

• Where in the story you find these techniques?

• Why is this a suspense story?

• Why the crowns got lost?

• Where did Paxton found the last crown?

• What happened to him?

• Why did that happened to Paxton according to the story?

3. Read and review the vocabulary list included in the page. 

4. Write a sentence with four of the words in this list.
